Cool Story
Junk Throw was built from hard work, and persistence. After my daughter was born I had one simple goal: create a junk removal company that treats people right.
While working at 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, I learned a lot about the junk removal industry and what seperates a great customer experience from an average one. I loved the fast-paced work, helping people clear out their space and meeting customers all over Portland everyday.
But after getting injured on the job and being told to take some time off to heal, things started to change. Days then weeks went by and eventually I never heard back. I needed an opportunity to provide, so I made my own.
With a leased pickup truck, a strong work ethic and vision for building Portland’s friendliest junk removal company, Uncle Johnny’s Junk Removal and Services LLC was born.
I started by helping neighbors around Portland with small junk removal jobs, old furniture, garage cleanouts, yard debris, appliances and anything else people needed hauled away. Fortunately I was getting referrals and repeat customers from simply showing up.
Over time, one pickup truck turned to a few. The business continued growing steadily, and we successfully pushed through the challenges of COVID while continuing to serve customers throughout Portland and the surrounding areas.
Like many small business owners, life brought some unexpected personal challenges along the way. For a couple of years I had to put the business on the back burner while focusing on family and rebuilding. But my passion for the industry and love for helping people never went away.
Eventually, i decided it was time for a fresh start and a new chapter. That’s when Junk Throw Junk Removal was created.
After relaunching, things took off quickly again. Before long we upgraded to our first box truck to keep up with the growing demand for junk removal services throughout Portland.
Today, Junk Throw has grown into one of Portland’s favorite local junk removal companies by sticking to the same values that started this journey from day one:
